LEGO Camp Tuesday

LEGO Camp
Tuesday
June 11, 2019

Today's theme for LEGO camp was "T is for Technology".   The campers spent the first portion of the morning using previously built LEGO WeDo 2.0.  They explored the coding software to understand how the robots worked and how to control them.  They enjoyed changing the direction of the rotation of the motor to change the robot's direction from forwards to backwards.

During the second half of the morning, campers worked collaboratively to build a LEGO WeDo 2.0 robot.  This robot included a frame that the robot pulled along to transport things.  They tested how many markers the robot could move.  They discussed how the purpose of robots is to help make work easier.  They explored why this robot with a chain connection to the frame could only pull objects and could not push them.

There was also time today for creative building and building challenges.  Many of the campers are excited to see how many challenge builds they can complete this week.  They wrote about there explorations and builds in their journals.

Tomorrow is "E is for Engineering".
